The Machine

On the 1st of March, 2011 The Machine was formed. The smart reader can now conclude, as indicated by the title of the post, that this means 1 year anniversary as a guild. Back then, in our first raid the guild consisted of 10 players, of which only 3 are left (Zumzar, Comfort and Swizzi). Butterzz and Tarrían are still playing casually as socials, whilst everybody else from back then has quit the game; Cudy, Scruffi (Compton), Binza, Pachla & Givin.

Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS TO US! \o/

Please note that we are no longer recruiting for Cataclysm. Any applications made from now on should only be made for Mists of Pandaria.

At the moment we do not know how our roster is going to change for Mists. Please be aware that it may change drastically before then. 

If you do make an application for Mists of Pandaria you will be expected to make a very good impression, as well as show us that you are at our level of play (experience/demonstration of ability) with as much focus and enthusiasm as our members.

HEROIC Madness of Deathwing

Finally! On the 25th of February, 2012, The Machine managed to bring down HEROIC Madness of Deathwing, and thus bring an end to the Cataclysm.

The last month we've had countless and countless of cancelled raids, after our 2.5 % wipe approximately 2½ weeks ago. It's really unfortunate, cause we definitely feel we deserved a better rank this tier, but loosing half the guild throughout Dragon Soul doesn't exactly help, nor does having to cancel more than half of our raids. Nevertheless, we are still very happy with the kill, and the fact that we managed to get it before the 10 % nerf to Dragon Soul.

We will be uploading a video from the kill from Zumzar, Fire Mage PoV. The video will include Ventrilo, so make sure to watch it if not for the content, then for the nerdscream from Jabba.. erh, I mean nerdscreams from everyone involved. The video should be up sometime Monday, hopefully.

Big thanks to Swizzeh for helping out on the kill, even though he quit WoW on January 7th, and it was his first raid since then *cough* ilvl 390 *cough*

The Machine will now be on a raiding break untill Mists of Pandaria, after we've ensured Shootemup and Puffylove the Madness kill. Some of us, including myself, will be taking a break from WoW, while others will be joining The Cult to help them finish this tier.

The Machine will hopefully be back stronger than ever in Mists of Pandaria! :)

If any of you is wondering why we haven't killed Madness yet, it is merely because we've been forced to cancel 4 out of the last 5 raids, due to AFKs from various members. With our 10 player roster, since half the guild quit throughout Dragon Soul, we have no real options at the moment. Hopefully, the guild will survive this and be back stronger than ever for MoP. We'll most likely be able to kill Madness at some point, when we're able to actually get a raid going again. Our next target is THURSDAY the 23rd.

HEROIC Spine of Deathwing

Woo! We finally killed HEROIC: Spine of Deathwing on the 2nd of February, 2012 @ 22.28 server time. It took us a total of ~100 tries to kill it, and god are we relieved it's finally over. Unfortunately, we didn't kill it pre-nerf, even though we were quite close. After the 15 % + 5 % nerf, killing Tendons was just a joke, but the fight overall was still very challenging and we are quite happy with the kill. And no, we of course did not use the Retribution Paladin 200k dps bug.

We will be uploading an Arcane Mage (Zumzar) PoV VIDEO from the kill. It should be up very, very soon! :)

HEROIC Warmaster Blackhorn

After a tumultuous couple of weeks, with yet another core player from The Machine quitting the game (Swizzi, our ONLY legendary staff wielder and co-creator of the guild), we managed to kill HEROIC Warmaster Blackhorn on the 10th of January after only 35 (!!) attempts. We killed the boss the first time we got into Phase 2, so Phase 2 was a little all over the place, seeing as one of our tanks didn't know the Dragon landed on Heroic, haha! A very enjoyable fight to say the least. By far the best Heroic encounter so far in DS.

We will also, as always, be uploading a movie from the kill, from my PoV (Zumzar - Fire Mage).

In other news, this week has also included shitloads of Star Wars: The Old Republic (http://www.swtor.com) You can find us on Starstorm One (PvP Server). We're obviously playing as The Sith Empire, and named <The Machine>. Whisper us for an invite. It's just a social guild as of now! *hint* The Warmaster movie will include a tribute to Star Wars *hint*

HEROIC Ultraxion

After some tough weeks, due to 3 (!!!) of our total of 12 raiders quitting WoW, we managed to finally kill HEROIC: Ultraxion on the 27th of December, at approximately 19.41 servertime. It's a fairly straight forward fight, and functions as this tiers obligatory dps-check. In other news, we are currently recruiting 2x EXTRAORDINARY DPS to fill our raiding squad, so head over to the recruitment forums, if you're interessted in joining The Machine, who by the way intends on continuing when Mists of Pandaria is released! We are mostly looking for Melee DPS, but we will also consider excellent applies from ranged dps!

So, yeah - we sucked pretty badly on HEROIC: Hagara, but we nevertheless managed to kill it after 5 hours of wipes, using the exact same tactic all along. We pretty much wiped for 5 hours, due to personal mistakes, which is obviously not acceptable if you want to be competing with the best. This fight is pretty cool if you ask me personally, but I don't think everybody in the guild will concur on that one :) We are now 4/8 on Heroic, but unfortunately, we have lost our server 1st, but we hope to bounce back strong on Warmaster, Spine and Madness. Our next raid will be on Thursday, where we're hopefully going to be able to kill HEROIC: Ultraxion, who is said to be pretty easy.

We're not going to be uploading movies for HEROIC: Hagara. If you want any info from the fight, we have logs uploaded on WoL.
